Lost my wallet in Sunnyside Queens last night. Decided to go out for some cheese cake at Paris Baguette and it dropped out on the way home getting into the car. I canceled all my cards but need to get a new license tomorrow morning. What a pain in the ass! On the bright side the cake was good.

I’m writing this on my Black Friday Love Sac bean bag chair! It’s very comfortable but not exactly perfect for what I wanted it for… Playing games and watching TV… It doesn’t have enough back support. Would be perfect if the TV was mounted on the ceiling tho. I recommend them in a room where you plan to chill out.. Not a TV room. Could be a weigh issue to. I will have my girl test it out when she is over and see if it’s better for significantly lighter people.

Got myself a pair of Tin Audio T3’s in ear monitors from Aliexpress. Holy shit they are good for the money. Build quality is exceptional and gives a very high end feel. The sound is the best I have ever heard from an in ear headphone. It’s got two dynamic drivers A 6mm and a 10mm, detachable wire with a mcxx connector. They wire is a beautiful silver and gold braid… And very thick. Only complant would be the wire length could be a touch longer. But it’s totally usable. If your looking for some new in ear monitors, you owe it to yourself to give the T3’s a try! Your not going find something as good as them for less. Oh… Forgot to mention, no plastic! All aluminum and super light!

I’m finally down to one car. It was not as hard as I thought and I am glad to have it gone. It had a bit of bad karma for me and it’s good to get it out of my life. I’m also not so much into cars anymore so no sense in keeping it. I think it will be my last expensive car, I don’t see myself getting anything crazy in the future. I might get the next Golf R so I can have the last gasoline version of an icon… but after that…

I have been getting back into audio and hopefully ham radio again once I get more settled in my new normal. Not much else new to report on at the moment… the car was the big news for me.

Wow… This software is amazing… If your into your music it’s a must have. One word of warning tho… It’s not cheap! Roon connects to Qobuz and Tidal for hi res streaming and all my FLAC files on the NAS. It’s discovery and meta data are excellent! Setup was dead simple… And it even runs under Linux if you want… Which I am doing BTW!

Well today I had to make the decision to put Bentley to sleep. He got really bad last night and wasn’t able to walk an didn’t want to eat or drink. The house feels different… Before I was never alone and always had Bentley happy to see me. Now it’s just quiet and empty.

I am going to take a break from pet ownership for a while. Don’t think I can deal with this again anytime soon.

He was a great dog and I will miss him.

Had an appointment at The Art of Sound in Lambertville today. Very nice store good super cool owner. I have a few devices on loan that I am demoing in house. I think will be using this store for my second 2 channel system upstairs in my guest room/listening room. I think I’m falling for the Devialet Expert 220 amp…. It’s beautiful, simple and sounds good! The shop has what should be a crazy bad rooms… With no treatment he had the sound dialed in and perfect! It’s all setup and placement and he’s a master at it. Audio Connection sounds good too but John uses treatments in the room… This was shocking good and all without acoustic treatments,

I think Bluesound’s products are totally different… Hopefully Sonos doesn’t win this one.

I set a goal for myself years ago… Loose weight and once I get to my goal get the ST-L super towers… Well I did it!

The sound is quite good but I will come back to that as they need more time to break in. One thing I can comment on is they go low… Really low! And do it effortlessly. I can hear the room modes walking around with them playing bass notes. Definitely going to need room tuning and proper placement in the near future.

I will be driving them and the other speakers in the theater with Emotiva or Anthem electronics. Still not sure which yet… Emotiva looks interesting but Anthem has ARC room correction which is something I would like to try. I have time as my wallet needs a break!

Decided to try making my own cables for my theater system instead of going the Audioquest or Kimber route.

Got 30 feet of Mogami 3104 OFC cable for the purpose. Still waiting on the banana plugs and techflex to arrive. Right now I am using zip cord and I can hear it in the mids to highs.😭 Will post a picture of the finished product!
